Adrian Dix talks to members

Adrian Dix, leader of the provincial NDP, told members at the September general membership meeting, “I’m pro-labour because it’s good for the economy and good for communities…I’m committed to construction and building the province.”

He said he supports project labour agreements because “they create lots of jobs and ensure work for your members.”

He talked about many issues that have arisen while the Liberals have been in power and that concern Local 115 members:

• declining union density
• lack of union representation for young workers
• fairness at the Labour Relations Board
• labour’s exclusion from decisions about training
• the need for unionized construction of a green economy
